Buy icepacks, cool packs or gel packs: what is the difference?
No difference. Whether you want to buy an icepack, a cool pack or a gel pack: you end up with the same product. Our product data puts it like this: ice pack, cool pack, cool packs and gel pack are different names for the same product. They are bags filled with gel, hence the name gel pack. The same goes for buying a cold pack.

Cooling element 600 g and large cooling elements
A 600 g cooling element does not exist: rigid cooling elements come in 200, 400 and 750 g. The 600 g ice pack is in the table above. The 750 g version counts as the large cooling elements. They are meant for larger packaging, longer transit times and shipments of several days. You can read more about this in our article on large cooling elements.
If you want to buy cooling elements for daily reuse, these are the sturdy choice: rigid plastic, leak-proof and reusable hundreds of times. The whole range is under our cooling elements. A gel pack is flexible, a cooling element is sturdy. You can read the difference in rigid cooling element or gel pack.
Combining ice packs with an EPS box
For good cooling, combine ice packs with an EPS box. How many packs you need per shipment depends on the box, the transit time and the environment. You can read more about this in Ice pack for shipping: what determines the quantity?.
