Tempex dozen kopen — per stuk, direct van de Nederlandse producent

Zoek je een tempex doos om vis, vlees, stekjes of diepvriesproducten koel te verzenden of te vervoeren? Hierboven vind je onze meest gekozen maten, per stuk te bestellen en direct uit voorraad. Omdat we de dozen zelf in Nederland produceren, profiteer je van scherpe prijzen uit eigen productie en heb je je bestelling doorgaans de volgende werkdag in huis. Grotere volumes nodig? Waar komt de naam tempex vandaan?

Tempex begon ooit als merknaam voor geëxpandeerd polystyreen, maar groeide in Nederland uit tot de soortnaam — zoals luxaflex voor jaloezieën of aspirine voor pijnstillers. Vraag je in de volksmond om een tempex doos, tempex box of tempex bak, dan bedoel je hetzelfde als een piepschuim doos of EPS doos. Het materiaal is identiek: witte, lichte kunststof die voor zo'n 98% uit lucht bestaat en daardoor uitstekend isoleert.

Tempex doos, tempex bak of tempex koelbox?

De termen lopen door elkaar, maar in de praktijk gaat het om twee vormen. Een tempex doos (of bak) met losse deksel is de standaard transportverpakking: licht, stapelbaar en herbruikbaar. Wil je een exemplaar dat je steeds opnieuw meeneemt — naar de markt, op de boot of naar een barbecue — kijk dan bij onze piepschuim koelboxen per stuk.

Waarvoor worden tempex dozen gebruikt?

  • Vis en zeevruchten — van sportvissers tot vishandel; kies een uitvoering met lekgaten zodat smeltwater wegloopt.
  • Vlees en BBQ-pakketten — gekoeld bezorgen of vervoeren zonder onderbroken koelketen.
  • Diepvries en droogijs — ijs, ijstaarten en bevroren producten blijven met droogijs tot 72 uur bevroren.
  • Planten, stekjes en aquaristiek — bescherming tegen kou én hitte tijdens verzending van levende have.
  • Verhuizen en opslag van kwetsbare spullen — licht, vormvast en schokdempend.

Zo haal je het maximale uit je tempex doos

Vul de doos zo vol mogelijk — stilstaande lucht binnenin is prima, circulerende warme lucht niet. Leg gelpacks bóvenop de inhoud: koude lucht zakt en koelt zo de hele doos gelijkmatig. Kies bij zendingen langer dan een dag voor een dikwandige uitvoering (30 mm of meer).

Tempex dozen van eigen Nederlandse productie

Als producent sinds 1972 maken we onze tempex dozen in eigen fabriek en leveren we uit eigen voorraad. Dezelfde dozen die je hier per stuk bestelt, gebruiken foodbedrijven, laboratoria en luchtvrachtafhandelaren dagelijks op grote schaal. Vragen over de juiste maat of wanddikte? Frequently asked questions

Is Tempex the same as Styrofoam?
Yes. Tempex is an old brand name that has become the generic term for polystyrene foam (EPS, expanded polystyrene) in the Netherlands. A Tempex box, polystyrene foam box and Polystyrene Box are therefore exactly the same product — only the name varies by region and industry.
How long does a Styrofoam box keep products cold?
Depending on wall thickness, the number of gel packs and the outside temperature: from 8–12 hours (thin-walled, 2 gel packs) up to 36–48 hours (thick-walled, 4 gel packs). With dry ice in a thick-walled EPS box, the contents remain frozen for 48–72 hours.
Can I buy EPS boxes individually?
Yes. All standard sizes on this page can be ordered individually and are in stock in the Netherlands — orders placed before 14:00 are usually delivered the next business day. Need larger quantities? Can dry ice be placed in a Styrofoam box?
Yes, Styrofoam (EPS) is highly suitable for dry ice. Important: never seal the box hermetically — dry ice sublimates into CO₂ gas, which must be able to escape. The lid of a Styrofoam box is naturally not gas-tight, making it safe to use. Additional IATA regulations for dry ice apply to air freight shipments.
