How many desiccant bags per container?
Depending on the type of cargo, humidity during loading, and transit time. For a 20 ft container, typically 4–8 bags; for a 40 ft container, 8–16 bags. We provide recommendations based on your shipment.
How long do they work?
Standard active absorption capacity of 60–90 days. This is more than sufficient for transcontinental shipments.
How do I prevent condensation in a shipping container?
Condensation forms because the air inside the container cools as it crosses climate zones. Container desiccant draws the moisture out of the cargo space before it can condense, while a container liner dampens the temperature swings that cause it. Combining both is the standard approach on long sea freight routes.
How do I keep a shipping container dry?
Load as dry as possible, use dry dunnage and hang container desiccant in the cargo space. The calcium chloride in the bags actively pulls moisture out of the air and turns it into a gel, keeping relative humidity low throughout the voyage.
Recyclable?
After use, dispose of with residual waste. Not biodegradable due to the CaCl2.
