This insulated envelope – also known as an isothermal envelope, thermal envelope, or cooling bag – is made from bubble wrap with a metallized aluminum layer and is most commonly used for chilled pharmaceutical transport of medicines, vaccines, and laboratory samples.

Why bubble wrap with aluminum?

This combination has been deliberately chosen: the bubble wrap traps air as an insulating layer, while the aluminum reflects heat radiation. Together, they slow down the warming of the contents, helping medicines, vaccines, chocolate, or cosmetics stay at the right temperature for longer.
