The 6-layer insulated bag 110 cm × 70 cm, also known as an isothermal bag, thermal bag or cooling bag for shipping, has been developed for shipments that need both extra insulation and extra length. This thermal shipping bag is often used when products have to be shipped chilled for longer and need more room inside the packaging. Think of larger orders or long products that do not fit efficiently into smaller insulating bags. In practice, the products are placed in the insulated bag, and the bag is then packed in a cardboard box. This set-up creates a stable and reliable cold chain package suitable for longer transit times and more challenging conditions within the cold chain.Extra insulation for more demanding applications
This isothermal bag is built up from six insulating layers, including metalized PET film and additional insulation layers. Thanks to this multi-layer construction, external heat is held back more effectively than with standard cooling bags. This contributes to a more even temperature inside the package during chilled shipping. In terms of insulation level, this 6-layer thermal packaging compares well with a thick-walled EPS box. At the same time, the bag offers more flexibility in use, is a strong alternative to EPS and takes up less space in storage.Use with gel packs
For optimal performance, this insulated bag is always used in combination with gel packs. The gel packs are placed on top of the products so that the cold can spread from top to bottom. It is important that the isothermal bag is well filled and that as little air as possible is left in the package. The number of gel packs depends on factors such as shipping time, product contents and ambient temperature. Because this differs per situation, many customers choose to take a test-based approach or ask for advice.Common applications
