Thermal envelopes and insulated envelopes — also known as isothermal envelopes, cooling envelopes or isothermal pouches — reliably keep small, temperature-sensitive shipments at the right temperature during transport. They are most commonly used in the pharmaceutical sector, for chilled shipping of medicines, vaccines and laboratory samples, as well as for food and cosmetics. The combination of bubble film with a reflective aluminium layer provides insulation and shock absorption, while the adhesive strip ensures a quick, neat seal. Available from 25×35 to 60×60 cm, suitable for letterbox and parcel post, and available directly from stock.

Thermal envelopes for chilled shipping by post

Thermal envelopes are insulated packaging in envelope format with an adhesive-strip closure. Ideal for shipping small, flat temperature-sensitive products by post or courier — such as pharma samples, sushi, cheese, charcuterie and other food shipments that don't have to stay upright.

Why a thermal envelope?

Letterbox format saves considerably on shipping costs compared to insulated boxes. The adhesive strip ensures a quick, secure closure without tape. Suitable for 1-2 cooling elements or ice pack sheets.

Applications

Fresh e-commerce (cheese, deli meats, sushi), pharma samples between locations, laboratory shipments, small-packed foods that reach their destination within 24 hours.

Frequently asked questions

Does a cooling envelope fit through the letterbox?
Yes, in most sizes, a cooling envelope fits through a standard Dutch letterbox, provided it is not filled too thickly. Check the thickness with your carrier in advance.
How long does the contents stay cool?
With 1–2 ice packs or ice pack sheets, typically 12–24 hours, depending on the outside temperature and the quantity of product.
Suitable for pharma?
Yes, for temperature-sensitive pharma samples between 2–8°C. For a strict temperature range, use PCM packs.
Is the adhesive strip reusable?
No, the adhesive strip is for single use only. The envelope itself can be reused after cleaning if it is undamaged.
